Kangaroo Cry on NCIS

Blue October's song Kangaroo Cry was played on an episode of NCIS. This scene is from Season 7, episode 10 - Faith. It has a super nice message to all our troops at the end.

Enjoy!

Lyrics for Kangaroo Cry...
Losing my control
Here it is the day I have to go
Just sit beside me
I can't let this show
How sick I feel to leave you so alone
God I'm terrified

We've lost respect for decency
When one can turn our world into an ant pile
We run circles, no direction do I see
The dust has blinded you, the dust has blinded me

I kissed her on the cheek
And then I waved goodbye
She had the saddest look I've seen in years
A kangaroo cry
A warm pathetic ocean flow we have to live by
We have to live by
Because we have to live

Chorus
And you choose to break our families
Tell me you've used all precautions known
And I'll stand beside the ones who stood alone
How long will we have to sing until you finally bring our sons, our daughters home?
We'll let the prayers start healing, what time's been stealing

We only want to feel as close as we can be
Use hands for holding on to your precious family
Just believe in all who shine
The light to help you see
Cause if I believe in you, will you believe in me?

I kissed her on the cheek
And then I waved goodbye
She had the saddest look I've seen in years
A kangaroo cry
A warm pathetic ocean flow we have to live by
We have to live by
Because we have to live

Chorus
Keep hanging on
Keep hanging on
Keep hanging on
Keep hanging on

We'll let the prayers start healing, when time's been stealing
Start healing
Start healing

Chorus

LA Road Trip!

March 21st, 2009
Shortly after the Acoustic Show in Sacramento, Janicca and I drove to LA to see them in concert. We met up with a few of our So Cal mom friends for the show.
Isn't the view from I-5 lovely?

We stayed at a wonderful apartment complex appropriately called The Meadows!

We got there a few hours early. We had a nice dinner at California Pizza Kitchen then walked over to the venue...which happened to be a small club called Club Nokia. We tried our hardest to get into the meet and greet but alas, we had to entertain ourselves outside in line for the last couple hours.

After much anticipation (and a not so awesome opening band) the real fun began! We were about two people from the front. We were tempted to kick the guy in the front row in the arse, since he kept leaning over the railing and sticking his hiney out... but I digress. The show was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! They played all their new songs off of their new, yet to be released CD, Approaching Normal plus many more songs off their previous CDs. We got to hear Say It several times since they were recording the music video during this concert.

After the show, we were too wired so we went to have breakfast. ; )

I didn't take any videos at this show. But here are some from youtube. (It may sound like my fangirl screaming in the background, but it is not...LOL)

The first song they played was Weight of the World.
The second song they played was Say It.
Been Down (This one he serenaded Janicca!!!)
Hate Me (partial)

The Hardrock Cafe - Sacramento

On March 17th 2009, Blue October played an acoustic show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Sacramento. They were on tour promoting their new CD which was about to be released. Janicca found out about the show through the local radio station. We rushed down that night and bought 5 tickets at $10.00 a piece, with the proceeds going to a local charity. Janicca got ticket number 1 and I got ticket number 2. Our friends Valerie and her husband Nick decided to drive up to see them and my friend Tracy decided to tag along.

We were told the band would play 3-4 songs, do a Q&A and then a meet and greet afterwards. They played Dirt Room, Into the Ocean, and Hate Me. Then they did Q&A. After that, we were ushered through an assembly line type meet and greet. Here are some pictures from the show.

Janicca was VERY excited!

This is why!

After the first three songs, they had the Q&A session. He answered about 4-5 questions, including one of mine. The last question was from someone who had seen them the night before in San Francisco. She said Justin had promised her he would sing Quiet Mind. He thought about it for a second and then commented on how yeah, he did and proceeded to sing Quiet Mind. It was BEAUTIFUL!

When asked about Dirt Room, Justin told Matt he needed to explain the background behind that song....

Here is the Acoustic Version of A Quiet Mind from the Hard Rock Cafe Acoustic Show in Sacramento.

After the show, they did a meet and greet. We got to meet each band member and get as many things autographed as we wanted to. They were lined up at a table and we were ushered through. Janicca and I actually broke the rules and went through twice. The boys got a kick out of it! LOL!

Here is Justin signing autographs.

These are some of the things we got autographed...

There is a story behind having this shirt autographed, too. I will post that as a different post another time.
The show was an awesome experience! It was the first time I had ever seen them perform. Tracy was able to record some footage from the show. I will try to upload it another time.

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time, there were three lost little girls. They read a book and became fast friends. Soon enough, they discovered a little band...something about the color blue and the month of October?? You may have heard of them.

So one day, one of the girls scored A.M.A.Z.I.N.G tickets to a small show in Sacramento at the Hard Rock Cafe. The three girls met up for the acoustic session and solidified their blue fangirl bond while waiting for the show to start. Sitting in the front row and squealing on a regular basis, the girls watched the boys play Dirt Room, Into the Ocean, Hate Me, and Quiet Mind, all the while, trying, but not succeeding, to maintain their composure.

After the show, the girls met the band, got lots of autographs and thus began their fangirl obsession with Blue October.
This blog is an outlet for us, to express our fangirliness, our devotion, our thoughts, feelings, dreams, emotions, and experiences with Blue October.
